THE ARTIST ABOUT THE BAS-RELIEF:
The body inscribed in an architectural plan is for me a metaphor of a spiritualized body, a body that is a dwelling for the soul, psyche. What is human - corporeality - refers to the spiritual sphere.
The theme "Architecture of Carnality" is a kind of thesis about the spiritualized body and the psychophysical unity of man. In my work I explore it in various techniques. However, the closest to the thesis are works in the form of reliefs, which affect their convexity and carnality, and closed in the shape of an architectural plan form a synthesis of the theme "Architecture of Carnality". In my works I have begun to combine the motifs of architectural plans of cathedrals with motifs of the body to illustrate my understanding of corporeality. I superimpose architectural plans over the body or draw plans based on the direction and alignment of bodies. The theme "Architecture of Corporeality" is fascinating to me because it combines forms that at first glance cannot exist at the same time: the soft, warm, imperfect body and the rigid, cold, perfect architecture. Architecture can also represent logic, the coldness of the intellect, the room, the dwelling, the psyche or the soul. The body, on the other hand, is a second essential place for the life of that psyche, soul, a representation of the subject's individuality.
The subject of Architecture of Corporeality is my own theme, which is interpreted in various techniques. BIO ARTISTS:
Artist focusing mainly on the theme of self-aesthetics, the relationship between corporeality and spirituality. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, since 2016 she has been a doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Author of the curatorial project Intimate Space. Winner of numerous competitions including the 10th Olsztyn Biennale for the Medal of the President of Olsztyn (2017), Promotions 2017 or AleSztuka! 2016. Her works have been exhibited both in Poland and abroad.
